According to one islamic scholar, evaluation of islamic movements should based on 3 criterions: 1. Its knowledge and education base This consists of 3 elements: - Its literature (oral or written) - Its school system - Its exemplification of the knowledge in personal and communal life 2. Its application of Islam to the major problems of the ummah - Sufism (in which he means world-denying) - Taqlid (literalism, uncreativity, lethargy and state of demobilisation) - Colonialism - Disunity (division of the Muslim society) - Secularism (seeking values other than in the Quran and the Sunnah) 3. Its reach in fulfilling the true potential of Islam. - Coverage of the universe (for the whole humanity) - Satisfy the material needs of men (we are top in poverty) - Achieve spiritual fulfillment in personal and social life (best people and best ummah?)
