According to research, men are the happiest in their 50s. I can see why. Turning 40 and now 41 was a bit scary. It was a goodbye from youth, so it felt. But then I realized I had naturally climbed to a level where I was ok with who I was. No more pressure to fit in or be anything just because someone or people expected me to. I stopped dragging myself to bars and clubs just because thats what the crowd did. I vanished from the environment and couldnt care less. Dont miss it. I stopped trying to change who I was, do things I didnt like, put up with crap I didnt think it was fair, just because if I didnt, nobody would want to be with me. I enforced the zero tolerance policy for anyone who had no desire to grow, no matter how broke they were, and didnt support my own efforts to do the same. And for the first time, I probably view relationships of all kinds, even friendship, as partnerships. Compatibility is taking priority. Today, Compatibility is everything.
