According to some reports on the net including the Daily Mail and Twitter Southampton will announce tomorrow that they have secured the signing of Feyenoords 6ft 4 Italian striker Graziano Pelle for a fee in the region of £8 million. See Pelle in action here...https://youtube/watch?v=IDLyYqEPPi8 Pelle played under new Saints boss Ronald Koeman and Koeman believes that the the Italian striker is the ideal replacement for Rickie Lambert who departed for his boyhood club Liverpool earlier this month. Like Rickie Lambert, Pelle has been a late developer having played for Lecce, Catania, Crotone, Cesena , Sampdoria and Parma back home in Italy and Az Alkmaar in Holland. Pelle had modest scoring records at these clubs before Ronald Koeman took him to Feyenoord where his career finally took off. Pelle, who will be 29 on July 15th, scored 27 goals in 29 appearances for Ronald Koemans side last season and 23 goals in 28 appearances in the previous season. Such form had attracted the attention of AC Milan, Everton, Stoke, West Brom and newly promoted QPR and Leicester City.
