According to the Bible, Jewish belief (including Jesus), the - TopicsExpress

According to the Bible, Jewish belief (including Jesus), the Jewish calendar, and many other ancient cultures, the universe is about 6,000 years old. The majority of scientists believe the universe is about 14 billion years old. Theres a minority of scientists, from around the world (about 10,000 in the U.S.), that agree with the Bible. I think theres a lot of evidence for a younger universe and I will share some of it in posts in the future, but I first want to answer some of the best arguments used against a young universe and in support of an older one. Probably the best argument, that every person is likely to know and understand, is distant starlight. We see star explosions and other activity, we measure the speed of light and can see that it takes a long time for the light from those stars to get here, so its claimed. Ive heard atleast six plausible explanations that Ill link to below. In the video I edited together below, I bring up four of the explanations. Towards the end, the video also briefly shares some of the evidence for a young universe, which Ill individually go into at a later time. The video is long and the beginning is difficult to understand in some parts and boring, but if you stick through it, it will be worth it. Its important to remember that the majority of scientists have a very similar problem (and many others) in their own model of the universe, which the video will also talk about.
