According to STEM, neither age, nor level of education affected the result of the survey this time. The difference in the result of the survey only reflected the political views of the respondents. Among, people with left-wing political views, 58% see Russia as a potential threat. Among people with right-wing political views, this figure reaches 74%. According to the findings of STEM, the Czechs are quite unanimous in regard to the situation in Ukraine. 80% of them believe that the Ukrainian conflict poses a threat to peace in Europe. The majority of Czechs - 71%, also supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The findings suggest that Czechs are quite skeptical towards the sanctions imposed by EU on Russia. Nearly three quarters of them, do not believe that those sanctions would help end the conflict. Approximately the same number of Czechs believe that sanctions against Russia harm Czech farmers. STEM conducted the survey from 3rd to 10th of September 2014. 1024 people were interviewed aged 18 and older. In turn, the Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka has repeatedly advocated a reduction in the list of sanctions against the Russian Federation, as well as against the supply of arms to Ukraine.
