According to the FAQ section on the King County Public Health site (kingcounty.gov/healthservices/health/ehs/fees/proposal.aspx) the proposed permit fee increases are not due to additional services offered but to adjust the rates based on the average time currently required to process each permit category to ensure the existing services are maintained. Based on the feedback they received earlier EHS is hosting two additional stakeholder meetings next week. I wonder if this means they received strong oppositions and are trying to come up with more reasonable solutions?
