According to the Geraldton Guardian, On Thursday 2nd May 1918, the combined state and church school children held a bonfire concert with an audience over a hundred Geraldton-Greenough residents. Among other tunes, they sang ANZAC Marseillaise in memory of the war fallen. On Tuesday next week, I will be remembering the Australian composer, Albert James Smith - service number 18458.
