According to the German Stern magazine from Feb ’13 Cyprus asks - TopicsExpress

According to the German Stern magazine from Feb ’13 Cyprus asks from Europe, mainly from Germany, for 17 Billion Euro to save its banks. That’s more than 20,000 Eu for every man, woman and child in a country of only about 800.000 , as I have calculated. But it is not actually for the Cypriots, but for the 12.000 rich Russians who have made Cyprus their tax haven, which comes to about 1,5 Million for each of them. The Russians had invested heavily and enjoy life in Cyprus and the banks had been careless. Sensibly enough all the German parties are against that aid and why should the German taxpayers support the good life of the Russians? They will still have plenty, no matter how much they are going to lose.
