According to the Gun Violence Archive, 6,739 people have been injured by gun violence in America and 3,937 have been killed since Jan. 1, 2014. That number includes 14 police officers, 415 children and 314 instances of defensive gun use. Here is this past weekend’s gun report. —Jennifer Mascia Friday: Donovan Hollman, 6, was shot during a possible domestic dispute at an apartment complex in Durham, N.C., early Friday, and his 29-year-old stepfather, Christopher Graham, an ex-convict, was arrested. An 8-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck in the neck by a stray bullet unleashed in a drive-by shooting outside her home in east Oakland, Calif., Friday night, and a man in his late 40s was also shot in the leg. Melvin Hearns, 14, was killed and another teenager was seriously wounded when someone opened fire on their car in Arcadia, Fla., Friday afternoon. A 15-year-old boy was shot and wounded in Chattanooga, Tenn., late Friday. Clement Holland, 34, was shot in the back when a candlelight vigil grew rowdy in Millville, N.J., late Thursday. A man was shot several times during an altercation with another man as they left a bar in Tucson, Ariz., early Friday, and the suspect, 51-year-old Mark Walck, turned himself in at his attorney’s office the next afternoon. Three men in their 20s were fatally shot outside a 24-hour hookah lounge in San Bernardino, Calif., early Friday, and the gunman and at least one of the victims are believed to be gang members. A man was shot multiple times and killed in the Belair-Edison neighborhood of Baltimore late Thursday. About twenty minutes later, a man was shot in the Idlewylde community of Baltimore. A man was shot in the hand and a woman was shot in the chin and torso by an unknown assailant in northeast Baltimore Friday night. Larry Peterson, 58, who was one of two people shot in a robbery outside his bed and breakfast in August 2012, died of his injuries in Baltimore early Friday. Alfred Lee Hemphill, 54, who was shot in the head and critically wounded in Midland, Tex., Thursday morning, died of his injuries late that night. LaPassion Henry, 23, was shot after a domestic dispute in Texarkana, Ark., Thursday evening, and her boyfriend, who allegedly rammed her car twice before opening fire, was arrested. Three people were found shot, one fatally, in a crashed car in DeKalb County, Ga., Thursday night. A man was shot and wounded by an acquaintance in southeast Portland, Ore., Friday afternoon. An 18-year-old man was injured in a gang-related shooting in Ontario, Ore., late Thursday. Francis ‘Pat’ Gregory, 69, was shot and killed and his 76-year-old friend was wounded when someone approached them and demanded his money on a remote hiking trail in Tehama, Calif., Friday afternoon. A man was shot and killed near a school in San Jose, Calif., late Thursday. A woman in her 20s was grazed in the head in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans late Friday. Elijah-Juan Zaire Vanness, 18, was shot in the torso and killed in a car in Hampton, Va., Friday afternoon. Justin Thomas Quintana, 26, was found shot to death in an apartment in Wichita Falls, Tex., early Friday. A man and woman were wounded in a shooting outside a nightclub in southwest Houston, Tex., early Friday. A man was shot in the stomach while walking down a street in southeast Houston Friday night. A 51-year-old woman was shot in the head and wounded in Pampa, Tex., early Friday. A man was shot in the torso in a gang-related incident in Visalia, Calif., early Thursday. Two men were shot and wounded in Colorado Springs, Colo., Thursday night. Shortly after, a man was discovered at a hospital suffering from a gunshot wound, and police are working to determine whether the shootings are related. A man was shot behind the ear on the White Mountain Apache Reservation in Navajo County, Ariz., Friday evening. Two people were accidentally shot in the hand in Wendell, N.C., Friday morning. A 66-year-old man was shot twice while trying defend his 65-year-old companion from a purse-snatcher in St. Petersburg, Fla., Friday afternoon. A man was killed and two other men were shot and injured in Lehigh Acres, Fla., late Friday; the victims, all under the age of 25, were relatives. A man and a woman were found shot to death at a home in the Indian Wells Country Club in Indian Wells, Calif., early Friday, and police suggested it was a murder-suicide. A woman was shot in the leg on the border of the Longfellow and Mosswood neighborhoods in Oakland, Calif., Friday afternoon. An 18-year-old man was found lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound in the Southbridge neighborhood of Wilmington, Del., late Thursday. Raul Medina, 24, was shot and killed while allegedly trying to break into a home in Laredo, Tex., Thursday night, and a resident of the home, 37-year-old Raul Hernandez, was shot in the arm. A man was shot twice while trying to break up a fight amongst a group of women in the parking lot of a gas station in Dayton, Ohio, early Friday. Raheem Stenson, 21, was shot in the head while holding his 1-year-old baby in his home in the South Cumminsville neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, late Thursday, and died of his injuries early Saturday. A man was shot and seriously injured at a park behind a housing project near downtown Nashville, Tenn., Thursday afternoon. A 30-year-old man was shot and wounded during a heated argument with his brother in Mattawa, Wash., Thursday afternoon. A man was shot several times in Savannah, Ga., Friday night. A man was shot twice by an unknown assailant in Elmira, N.Y., Thursday night. Demetrius McGhee, 20, who was shot and seriously wounded in Montgomery, Ala., Thursday night, later died of his injuries. One person was shot twice and wounded in Darlington County, S.C., Friday night. A 26-year-old man was found lying in a parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds in Merced, Calif., Friday night. A man was found shot to death in an apartment that was set ablaze in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Friday morning. An 18-year-old man was shot in the back when someone opened fire as he rode his bike in Sikeston, Mo., Thursday afternoon. A man and a woman, both 19, were shot outside an apartment complex in Whitehall, Ohio, late Friday. A man was shot and critically wounded during an attempted robbery at a liquor store in Muncie, Ind., late Friday. A man was found on a porch with several gunshot wounds in Utica, N.Y., late Friday. A 27-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were sprayed with shotgun fire when the woman intervened in the man’s suicide attempt at an apartment building in Washington Township, N.J., early Friday. A man accidentally shot himself in the arm while preparing to clean his gun in Park Hills, Mo., Friday afternoon. Kentrealvist “Ken Ken” Malcom, 22, was shot and ran to a nearby apartment complex, where he died, in Monroe, Ga., Friday night. Saturday: A 4-year-old boy is dead after accidentally shooting himself with his parents’ gun, which he found in the bedroom of their home in Merrillville, Ind., Saturday morning. A 5-year-old boy, the son of a sheriff’s deputy, shot himself behind the ear with his father’s service weapon at their home in Anson County, N.C., Saturday afternoon. A 13-year-old boy was shot while sitting on his front porch in east Knoxville, Tenn., Saturday afternoon: “We’re scared to sit on the porch,” a neighbor said. A 14-year-old girl was wounded in the back when someone opened fire on her car near the Fountain Square district of Indianapolis Saturday night. A 16-year-old boy was killed and a woman and two men were injured in a shooting during a fight at a party in Coachella, Calif., early Saturday. Janet Jimenez, 17, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Santa Ana, Calif., Friday night. Malique Brown, 17, was found shot to death in the driveway of a home in Fort Myers, Fla., early Saturday. Three men and two women were shot and wounded outside a strip club in Northeast Washington, D.C., early Saturday. Late that night, Simwone Keith Milstead, 36, was shot and killed in Southeast Washington, D.C. Three people were shot and wounded at KC’s Pub in Fitchburg, Mass., early Saturday. Three people were shot and wounded at a party in Chico, Calif., early Saturday, and the incident may be gang-related. Three men were injured in two separate shootings in Hayward, Calif., early Saturday. Two men and their mother were each shot in the leg in front of a gas station in Niagara Falls, N.Y., Saturday afternoon, and police believe the shooter had a longstanding dispute with the brothers. A man accidentally shot himself in the leg at a Walmart in Phoenix, Ariz., Saturday morning. One person was shot and wounded south of downtown Nashville Saturday night. A man was wounded in the buttocks when someone drove by and opened fire on his car in the Goulds neighborhood of Miami, Fla., Saturday night. A woman was shot in the lower back when a bullet pierced the trunk of her car on the southeast side of Indianapolis Saturday night. A man walked into a fire station in Buffalo Creek, Colo., with a self-inflicted gunshot wound he sustained at a shooting range Saturday morning. Tyrone Hilton, 50, was shot and killed and Lamont Quarterman, 28, was wounded during a home invasion in the South Linden neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio, Saturday night. A man was shot several times and wounded in Columbus, Miss., Saturday morning. Lamar Swint, 26, was wounded when someone opened his car door and opened fire outside a house party in New Haven, Conn., Saturday night. Half an hour later, Otis Powell, 44, was shot to death outside a print shop in New Haven. Two women, ages 26 and 29, were wounded when someone opened fire on their car as they were driving on the east end of Newport News, Va., early Saturday. A man was shot during an attempted robbery in Norfolk, Va., Saturday night. Jonathan Bradley Coles, 29, was found shot to death inside a home in Hampton, Va., early Saturday. One person was shot and wounded in the Grand Park neighborhood of Jacksonville, Fla., early Saturday. A 22-year-old man was shot multiple times outside the Knotty Pine Tavern in Erie, Pa., early Saturday, and the victim is not cooperating with officers. Gary Lane, Jr., 36, was shot and killed following an altercation with an acquaintance at a condominium complex in south Charlotte, N.C., early Saturday. A woman was grazed by a bullet outside the Arlington Terrace Apartments in the Mariners Harbor section of Staten Island, N.Y., early Saturday. One person was shot and killed after a large disturbance outside a 7-Eleven in Colorado Springs, Colo., early Saturday. Two bystanders were injured when two men were shooting at each other in Woodbridge, Va., Saturday night. A man was shot twice while driving in Las Vegas Saturday afternoon, and police believe the shooting was sparked by a drug deal that went bad. An employee of a Sonic restaurant on the north side of San Antonio is in critical condition after he was shot during an armed robbery early Saturday. Ramon Garcia, 31, was killed when someone shot through the front door of his home in Tucson, Ariz., Saturday afternoon. Tezjuan Taylor, 20, was shot and killed near a gas station in McKeesport, Pa., early Saturday. A 23-year-old man was shot and killed after leaving his home to meet his girlfriend in East Los Angeles early Saturday. A man was shot and killed near Pimlico Race Course less than two hours before the Preakness Stakes horse race in Baltimore Saturday afternoon. That night, a man walked into a Baltimore hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot. A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg shortly after a man approached him and said, “When I come up the block, you better be gone,” in Jersey City, N.J., early Saturday. An 18-year-old was shot in the arm while riding his bike in the Perry South neighborhood of Pittsburgh Saturday afternoon. Mitzi Yvonne Emery Larson was shot and killed after an argument with her husband at her home in Clifton, S.C., early Saturday; it was her 42nd birthday. Milka Talavera, 27, was found shot to death in her home in Port Arthur, Pa., Saturday night. A woman was grazed in the leg and wounded during a gunfight outside a McDonald’s in New Orleans Saturday evening. A man was shot and wounded in West Palm Beach, Fla., Saturday morning. A man was shot by someone in a passing S.U.V. as he was walking in Columbia, S.C., early Saturday. Yoni Zavala Medina, 32, was found shot several times and critically injured in a carport in Salinas, Calif., late Saturday. A man in his early 50s was shot in the torso at a barbecue in a park in Compton, Calif., Saturday night. Two men, 22 and 32, were shot in front of a home in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y., Saturday. An 18-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting at a 17-year-old girl’s birthday party in northeast Houston late Saturday. Two people were wounded in a shooting in the courtyard of an apartment complex in San Bernardino, Calif., late Saturday. Fredrick Coleman, 19, drove himself to the hospital after being shot in the chest during an argument in Prichard, Ala., late Saturday. A man was shot and critically injured after two men forced their way into his home, saying their car had broken down and they had to use the phone, in Garland County, Ark., late Saturday. Alex Craig, 19, was fatally shot in the back in Fort Worth, Tex., Saturday afternoon. A 30-year-old man was found lying on the grass in front of a home and shot multiple times in the legs on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, Saturday afternoon. A 17-year-old boy walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to his hip that police think he sustained during a drug deal gone bad at an apartment complex in Orlando, Fla., Saturday afternoon. Travis Mayes, 43, was found shot to death next to his motorcycle after a dispute over a woman in Granite City, Ill., early Sunday. A 26-year-old man was shot and seriously wounded in Danville, Va., Sunday afternoon. Darryl Terry, 50, the owner of a market in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh, was shot and killed during a robbery attempt, and a woman believed to be a witness was critically wounded Sunday night. Two people were killed and two others were wounded during a shootout in Cobb County, Ga., Sunday evening. A man in his 20s and a man in his 50s were shot and killed in a drug-related incident at the younger man’s home in northwest Harris County, Tex., Sunday night. An 18-year-old man was shot in the head during an incident that started at a club and moved to a deli in Douglas, Ga., early Sunday. A woman was shot in the leg in Fayetteville, N.C., Sunday afternoon. At least two people were killed and 26 others were wounded in shootings in Chicago this weekend. Victims include Charles Lee, 32, who was shot to death by someone in a passing vehicle while sitting in a car in the Austin neighborhood; 20-year-old Kendall Floyd, who was shot in the head by someone driving a white minivan; a 24-year-old woman wounded while sitting in a car with an acquaintance; a 16-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys.
