According to the official DSWD Disaster Risk Reduction and Repsonse Operations Office (DRROO), as of November 14, 2013: AFFECTED POPULATION: A total of 2.64 million families with 12.24 million persons were affected by the recent typhoon. The affected population came from 9,607 barangays, 543towns, 55 cities, 43 provinces in 9 regions. DAMAGED HOUSES: A total of 251,044houses were damaged of which 135,848 are totally damaged while 115,196 are partially damaged. STATUS OF EVACUATION CENTERS: A total of 3,844 evacuation centers were utilized at the height of the relief operations and provided temporary shelter to 266,024families or 1 million persons while 316,012 families or 1,452,051persons were served outside the centers. To date,1,022 evacuation centersare still open and providing temporary shelter to 79,881 families or 387,630 persons. Other displaced families (259,646) or individuals (1.20 million) opted to stay with their friends and families. No evacuation centers are open in Region-V as previously reported due to the return of the evacuees to their respective places of origin. ASSISTANCE PROVIDED: Cost of Assistance.The total cost of assistance provided to the typhoon victims amounted to Php60.72 million coming from DSWD, LGUs and NGOs/Other GOs. DSWD provided Php31.16 million worth of assistance FOOD PACKS. To date, DSWD repacked a total of 462,451 food packs for DSWD-FO VIII. A total of 283,250 food packs have been distributed by DSWD-NROC to DSWD FOs IV-A, IV-B, V, VII, VIII, X, XI and CARAGA. Food packs were given to families in the evacuation centers as well as those affected families who stayed with their families and friends. To date, with the newly opened satellite Warehouses of the DSWD, the satellite from Ateneo, Katipunan, Quezon City approximately produced 20,396 food packs, to added to the actual production of 349,431 family food packs produced by the repacking centers. Mobilization. DSWD is currently mobilizing volunteers to help in repacking relief goods in the National Resource Operation Center (NROC).To date, a total of 12,516 volunteers in NROC was able to repack 88,600 food packs. These volunteers came from private organizations and institutions, government offices, local government units, public and private schools and volunteer families and individuals. P258,431.00 cash donations was received by DSWD-CO to support Typhoon Yolanda Victims. The Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) is closely coordinating with all DSWD-FOs for significant reports caused by this weather disturbance.
