According to the weather reports, Capetonians can expect a full day of sunshine this Sunday 27th July, which bodes very well for the first Cape Town Street Food Festival, taking place at Sidestreet Studios in Woodstock. The day kicks off with a street food market from 9am - 3pm (entrance is free), where you can stock up on your favourite fare from around town. There is also going to be a series of talks from 10am - 3pm featuring inside information from some of Cape Towns most popular and dynamic food entrepeneurs. The lineup includes Andrew Kai and Matthew Freemantle of Gusto, Yang Zhao of Beijing Opera, Kate Schrire of The Creamery and Andy Fenner of Frankie Fenner Meat Merchants, and topics covered will include marketing, brand building, street vs retail, and more. Cost is R297.95 per person for the conference. Finally, the day will round off with a delicious street food dinner at 7pm, prepared in a collaborative effort by some of the speakers and other street food vendors from around Cape Town. Cost of the dinner is R379.95 and tickets are available on quicket.co.za. Visit capetownstreetfoodfestival.co.za for more information.
