Accountability: As a child my mother use to have this thing about - TopicsExpress

Accountability: As a child my mother use to have this thing about group whippings, if she had to give one she might as well get 2 even though she had 3. Now the thing is, there where times I was viewed as the Chosen Child/Golden Child so very rarely did I get in trouble, not because I didnt make trouble, cause trouble or start trouble. Yet I was a bit different, I would do what I was gonna do, then I would go to my mother and tell her I need a whipping. She never asked me why, but she would sound off...if I got to whip one Im gonna whip all 3. So my sisters would always talk me out of wanting a whipping. Now dont get me wrong, I didnt enjoy that leather strap quickly attaching to my skin and snapping it back until the next lick came. I just was trained of wrong and right, and understood if I did wrong there were suppose to be consequences. Yet I learned that same training I was given, I was often times also exempt from. So when I would go to my grandmas and get in trouble and she gave me solo whippings I didnt understand - I thought I could only be punished in a group with my sisters. But my grandma said No baby, you got to be accountable for what you do, your sisters arent accountable for your choices, therefore they not going to take this @$$ whipping with you either. So the moral of the story is, if you let it flow from your mouth, if you allow your thoughts to lead you to it, if you chose to do it...you got to take that @$$ whipping by yourself and be accountable for you. Stop allowing others to influence your behavior, your speech, your thoughts and your life, because Life is not a group session, it might be in a group setting but when it comes down to the get down...you can only be accountable for what you did, the part you played and what you contributed to it. Plain and Simple as that.SRJ - Later
