The Position This position is in a start-up environment and will assist the Finance Manager, India in executing the finance and accounting function within India. The Accountant will work with local external accountants and the APAC Finance Team located in Australia. They will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll for the Indian operations. The role will also work with local authorities to ensure compliance to both local statutory requirements and the production of monthly management accounts. The responsibilities of this position will include: Assist in preparation of Indian Management Accounts Prepare accounting for Foreign Exchange related transactions. Handle Reporting including Monthly, Yearly, processing JV, Reconciliation, Audits & MIS reports for management. Prepare balance sheets, Profit & Loss statements and general ledgers Assist in the yearly audit as per Indian GAAP and tax returns with the help of external accounting firm Prepare billing to clients and Debtor Management in conjunction with APAC team Coordinate - Payroll for 6 -10 staff Prepare Regulatory Compliances like TDS, Service tax in sync with External Accounting firm. Assistance with implementing global policies. Prepare Intercompany Billing and Reconciliations Assist with yearly budgets and monthly forecast Other duties as required from time to time Candidates will ideally have the following skills and attributes: 2-3 years’ experience in Accounts and Finance Previous experience in a US multinational Master’s degree in Accounting / Commerce from a recognized university, I.C.W.A (Inter) or C.A (Inter).
