Accra Hearts of Oak striker, Gilbert Fiamenyo, could be hauled - TopicsExpress

Accra Hearts of Oak striker, Gilbert Fiamenyo, could be hauled before the club’s disciplinary committee for making unsavoury remarks against referee Yao Ametepe during their game against Ashgold at Obuasi last Sunday. The player was said to have described the referee as a disgrace to Ewes after the referee turned down his approach to help them win the game because they were all from the same tribe. But the Public Relations Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak, Muheeb Saed, said the player had gone beyond his bounds and would be made to face the internal sanctions of the club. Saed described Fiamenyo’s outburst of anger on the referee as a breach of club’s disciplinary code when he had not been authorised to speak to the media. Last Sunday, Fiamenyo and teammate Selasi Adjei were alleged to have asked referee Ametepe to assist them win the game since they were all Ewes; an allegation the referee confirmed in an interview with Kumasi-based Angel FM. Saed said: “We have heard all the comments going on in the media and as a team, we will meet and plan what to do. In Fiamenyo’s case, he doesn’t have any right to speak to the media so for him to do that is a breach of club directive and we will apply our internal disciplinary regulations. “We haven’t heard anything from the Football Association and we are waiting to hear from them so we know what to do,” Mr Saed told the Daily Graphic.
