Accusing chief minister Prithviraj Chavan of giving a clean chit to the NCP, the BJP on Friday demanded an inquiry by the special investigation team (SIT) into financial irregularities in the irrigation department.DF governments claim of a 28% increase in the states irrigation potential. The facts tabled in the white paper are nothing but eyewash. An SIT probe was ordered in the Telgi scam. The BJP wants an SIT inquiry along similar lines into financial irregularities in the irrigation department, Tawde said. We will not allow the state legislature to function unless the government orders the probe.
