#Aconcagua team safely back to Base Camp. Report from Sean Callery. We successfully summited Aconcagua yesterday afternoon on 14th Jan at approximately 14:30 local time. Conditions were very good during the ascent but started to deteriorate on the descent followed by a very cold night last night. We noticed a number of climbers returning to camp 3 and abandoning their attempt this morning due to adverse weather (apparently severe cold!). We descended to Plaza de Mulas today and hence my ability to write you this update. In the morning we will trek to Penitentes and return to Mendoza. Both myself and Ian are very well and are delighted to have successfully and safely summitted a very difficult mountain. Were looking forward to a good rest in Mendoza in the next few days.
