There is some good news to be shared with citizens,” Tewarie said. “The deficit for 2014, based on last year’s actual income and expenditure, is only $2.6 billion. This is almost $4 billion less than originally projected in the 2014 budget statement, and more than $2 billion less than the revised figure given by the Minister of Finance when he presented this year’s budget.”
