Act for Singapore 3 hrs · What Singapore needs are politicians with passion for justice and speaks without equivocation. Such a person is Tan Jee Say who withstood Tony Tan to the face about the abuse of the ISA. It is our duty as Singaporeans to put Tan Jee Say into parliament so that he can act for Singapore. Secretary-general for the Singaporeans First Party (SFP), Tan Jee Say has been appointed as a Harvard Fellow by Harvard University. Mr Tan will be traveling to Harvard University later this month to take up the Fellowship and will be based at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. Mr Tan will be interacting with the university’s diverse community of scholars and practitioners of international affairs – politicians, diplomats, military officers, journalists, representatives of NGOs, and business professionals. His principal focus is on globalisation and employment security. This is the second university fellowship for Mr Tan. Last year in May, he was appointed Visiting Fellow by Oxford University where he researched on welfare states at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention. The following month, he was a guest speaker at the international conference “Shifting to post-crisis welfare states in Europe” held in Berlin. It was the largest gathering of international scholars on the subject of welfare states. In March 2013, Jee Say delivered a special lecture in Peking University on “Population, Economic Growth and Quality of Life” in which he discussed the challenges of immigration and cross-border flow of labour, a subject that he will research further during his Harvard Fellowship.
