Action-Housing Inc. will open two additional housing units on Thursday to provide emergency shelter for homeless female veterans and their children. The property has been completely renovated and one unit is fully handicapped accessible. The women are provided a safe place to live while they concentrate on stabilizing their lives, said Al Mercer, executive director of the Veterans Leadership Program. The organization also has temporary housing in East Liberty and Braddock for female veterans and their children.
