Action from the Tuesday, September 2, 2014, Barton County Commission meeting: COUNTY CLERKS OFFICE: Request for Approval – Added / Abated / Escaped / Refunded Taxes for 2013 – An Order of Added / Abated / Escaped / Refunded Taxes for 2013 was approved RESOLUTION 2014-14 – Application for Zoning Amendment for a Described Tract of Land: Grant Doyle, dba Deception Outdoors, Inc. requested a zoning amendment to rezone his 5.0 acre tract located four miles south of Odin from Agricultural District to Light Manufacturing Service Commercial District so he can build a 100’ x 30’ Shop and move his Taxidermy and Decoy Business from Hoisington. The Commission adopted the Resolution, which will allow for the zoning amendment. ROAD AND BRIDGE: Sale of the 1974 Sand Dredge – Road and Bridge accepted bids for the sale of the 1974 Eagle Dredge. The sale bill included the make, model, location in the event the bidder wished to examine the dredge and a statement that the dredge was being sold as is. The dredge was sold to Venture Corporation for $81,050.00. WETLANDS AND WILDLIFE NATIONAL SCENIC BYWAY: Marketing – Cris Collier, President, Great Bend Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), presented two videos dealing with the Wetlands and Wildlife National Scenic Byway. COUNTY SERVICES: Informational Update – Richard Boeckman, County Counselor / Administrator, provided the update.
