Activate! Change Drivers ACTIVATE! is a network of young leaders equipped to drive change for the public good across South Africa. Connecting youth who have the skills, sense of self and spark to address tough challenges and initiate innovative and creative solutions that can reshape our society. What’s the basis of the Programme? ♡ ACTIVATE! – as a network of change drivers it is supported by an organisation that provides infrastructure, training, and other forms of assistance. ♡ Every year, young people who are active change drivers or those who feel they could become active change drivers are invited to apply to the Programme. ♡ It is designed as a journey through different stages of personal and professional development. ♡ The idea is that young people can reach their full potential as active citizens bringing about change, and that the journey starts with the self. How is the Programme structured? ♡Those who are selected participate in a cutting-edge three year part-time training, experiential and mobilisation programme. u The programme is fully funded and is tailor-made to capacitate young people. The first year includes: ♡ Three intensive training sessions (spread out through the year), divided into three modules covering about ten days each. ♡ On top of this, various home and community tasks are set to increase the impact of the experience. Year two and year three : ♡ involve more direct hands-on experience, tutorials / projects and support through the Exchanges (events) and the Junction, which provides a range of online resources, from opportunities to partners to financing and the media. ♡ Towards the end of each year, all participants from across the country come together at an exciting summit where they showcase their big ideas andconcrete actions. Who can apply and where does training take place? ♡ You need to be between 20 and 29 years old. ♡ You can live anywhere in South Africa, in urban and/or rural areas. ♡ For the first year training, transport will be provided from a central point,if needed, to get you to the three nodes where training takes place simultaneously (Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal). ♡ You can be employed full-time or part-time, a student, or not employed at all. ♡ What matters is your passion to think creatively and to play an active role in transforming your community and the country at large.
