Activities (Day 44) - After a fun weekend of geocaching (for which we received the Creative Patient award), Monday and Tuesday Megan went back to work. Monday started with a clinic session where we were congratulated on our creativity in staying active over the weekend. We also learned that Megans numbers continue to climb by leaps and bounds. The big winner this week was platelets that jumped almost 50% since last checked. There was more discussion about her neuropathy and possibly increasing or changing meds. The afternoon was a lazy on as we both required some recovery from our geocaching adventures. There was a very good taco bar for dinner then Megan headed to the theater room for teen movie night. As you can see from the picture, she was very comfortable and ended up with the whole place to herself. She is planning a Divergent screening that will most likely attract a bigger audience. Tuesday was another slow morning I cleaned the room and caught up on laundry. For lunch we found an A&W and ate in the car by another local lake. After that it was off to physical therapy. It seems my discussion about the importance of PT for Megan was well received. We were greeted by not one but TWO therapists who put her through the wringer for a full hour. I got plenty of dirty looks from Megan but she trudged through the stretches and exercise like a champ. After dinner they were having a good bye party for one of the therapy dogs at Ronald. Paul, the golden retriever will be leaving for Singapore soon and wont be back for three years. He will be able to learn Chinese to add to his English and German that her already knows. Megan did some crafts and got a bag of puppy chow to snack on later. As the party wrapped up, mom and Aunt Lynn were just arriving from Iowa. I jumped in my already loaded car and hit the road. Thank goodness for audio books and 5-hour energy! I arrived home around 11:00 and was up at 4:00 to head to work. Looking forward to a few evenings at home and seeing Noah this weekend. Noah is attending sibling camp at the Childrens Cancer Connection and the report from the counselor is that he is having a blast. Enjoy the pics! Dad
