Actor Jim Carrey Displays Integrity Integrity, Violence, What happens when a movie star changes his mind about the moral acceptability of his film? Actor Jim Carrey, prompted by the violent killings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, is refusing to promote the soon-to-be-released film Kick-Ass 2, which he stars in. He filmed the movie a month before the shooting, but now is uncomfortable with the level of violence it has. Carrey tweeted, "I did Kick-Ass 2 a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence. My apologies to others involve[d] with the film.
