Actor Sean Connery is the first Scottish celebrity, especially of his calibre who has advocated support for Scottish independence, that I know about. Others I have read about pledge their loyalty to the United Kingdom; especially sports celebrities who pledge their loyalty to the British flag. Its not that they reject their Scottish heritage. Its that see themselves first as British, and, then, Scots. Even other British celebrities like David Bowie have urged Scots to vote no on the independence referendum coming up September 18. In fact, Bowie used the opportunity at the BAFTA Awards to ask fashion model Kate Moss to plead with Scots to stay in the UK. For me, I stay clear of British politics in my commentaries, but I want a United Kingdom to remain united. Igonikon Jack
