Actor and Christian, Kirk Cameron believes Christians “Should have the biggest Halloween party on your block.” As 31st of October draws closer we ask the question on The Awkward Show….Should Christians have anything to do with Halloween Night? The Festival of Halloween means different things to different people. To some it represents witchcraft in various forms, to others it is just some harmless fun. There is even the argument that Halloween is connected historically to the Christian faith…. Will you and your church be celebrating Halloween or providing an alternative? Our Awkward Moment for Sunday 26th October, 5-7pm on Premier Gospel is... ‘THE AWKWARD MOMENT WHEN YOUR CHURCH HOST AN ALTERNATIVE EVENT TO HALLOWEEN In the United States, Halloween is one of the largest consumer holidays - second only to Christmas in terms of retail sales. A quarter of all annual sweet sales in the US have reportedly occurred at Halloween. Is the day just some harmless fun that christians should or is there something deeper in the festival? Should Christians mix their faith with secular activities? Is Halloween a great opportunity to evangelise by providing an alternative to it? Why not just join in with the festivities, It’s just some harmless fun….? Would you be happy to allow your child or younger sibling to go trick or treating..? Do you know the origins of Halloween?
