Actors/Actresses, READ MY LIPS: the best way to BIG break into the business is to create your own feature film idea (not a short! Generally a waste of time for actors long run), something based on your own persona/experience, write the outline, then either yourself or a good writing friend, convert into a screenplay. The world of making a feature films for little to no money has gotten much easier. Most people in the business have access to a camera, simple lighting, editing, locations, actor friends. Everyone has a free feature film in them. Use these resources. Getting distribution is as easy as it has ever been. I am happy to see that a couple of my actor friends are doing this based on my motivation. One of the projects, I feel, has huge potential. Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture/Girls) did it. BIlly Bob Thorton (Slingblade) did it. Nia Vardalos, (My Fat Greek Wedding) did it. So can you. Stop thinking about it and JUST DO IT.
