Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive POWER after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. The purpose of the Holy Ghost is to have power to be a witness for Jesus Christ. Its the ability to see areas in your own walk that need to be changed, strengthened and the power to say NO to your own flesh. The Holy Ghost gives you power to hold your tongue in anger; to rejoice in persecution; to witness boldly to lost souls. Looking at the influences of society, Hollywood, and those we come into contact with on a daily basis, one could easily be lulled to sleep by the world. From outright sin to subtle compromise, theres a pull from every direction to leave a life of salvation and sanctification. Knowing what the times hold, its a priceless blessing to have a Spirit filled life, a life that shows the true evidence of the Holy Ghost filling, ruling, and leading your experience. Thank God for the Holy Ghost and the power it gives to live holy in this present world!
