Acts 15:1-21 the council at Jerusalem over the issue of circumcision in particular....over lingering over the old ways in general. Peter reminds them all that Christ came to fulfill the law....the sincere intent rather than the rigid letter..... and quoting from Amos and Isaiah, that for generations part of that intent is that the gospel is sincerely intended for ALL. He (the Holy Spirit) made no distinction between us and them....for He also cleansed their hearts through faith. reminded again of that sweet and sainted lady from Bethel Methodist Church in Spartanburg thirty plus years ago now, her simple but profound observation about whatever denomination we may be, We all love the same Jesus.....let THAT and ONLY THAT be our defining measure in this thing we call life....amen
