Acts 20:35 says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” That word blessed means happy, having received God’s favor. It’s a life where we break the more mindset and guard against greed. Where we are rich toward God, trading in our earthy wealth for lasting wealth by being rich toward God. Where we are filled with faith not worry, knowing that God has promised to take care of our needs as we follow Him. The good life isn’t out there. It’s isn’t found in more possessions, more freedom, more security, more health, more popularity, more romance or even in your team winning the Super Bowl. The good life is found in God. He came to give us life to the full and told us it is better to give than to receive. It doesn’t happen to us, it happens though us.
