Acts 20:7a And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples - TopicsExpress

Acts 20:7a And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them,... Sunday, the first day of the week, is the Resurrection Day, the day the Lord Jesus Christ arose from the dead (LK 24:1-9), which is known by GODS people throughout this blessed Age of Grace as the Lords Day - the day the Church of the Living GOD is to meet together, for the New Covenant in Christ Jesus demands a new commemoration day. GOD established Sunday to be that commemoration Day as a continue celebration of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. And it is GODS express command that His people are to meet together to do so on a regular basis (Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching Heb 10:25) There are many reasons GOD has decreed that His Church meet together regularly, and tremendous blessings are realized by those who do not neglect what GOD has ordained (Heb 10:25). Corporately, there is the knitting together of the Body in unity in the bond of peace. The Church is a family - the family of GOD - and as members of His glorious family we are partakers of the same faith, sharing the same love, having the same Spirit, enjoying the same fellowship, holding to the same Word of Truth, exalting and serving the same Savior, worshiping the same GOD, all for His glory. Brethren, the ministry and work of our Lord Jesus Christ on our behalf (Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of GOD and our Father Gal 1:4) was a tremendous success story (And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory I Tim 3:16), and now we can shout joyfully and triumphantly, O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (I Cor 15:55). We do indeed serve a mighty Savior.
