Acts 4: 32-36 Unity and Fellowship in the church Paul wrote the letter of 1 Corinthians to urge the church in Corinth towards greater unity. Differences in opinion are inevitable among human beings and can actually be helpful for the growth of the church if handled well. Spiritual unity is very essential, loyalty, commitment, and love for God and his word. Without spiritual unity the church cannot survive. There are however two kinds of unity in the church: 1. True unity where people agree to do good. This is good for the spiritual growth of believers. 2. False unity where people agree to do bad. This is bad and its the work if the devil in the church. Gods work will not manifest itself wgen people unite to be mean, gossip, hate each other and have fights in every meeting. The early church was able to share possessions and property as a result of the unity brought by the Holy Spirit working in and through believers lives. This offers us vital principles to follow. There is need for strong unity in the church and for us to work together in love, and have unity of purpose. We get blessings from God for doing good. We are assured of eternal life if we remain united to do good in the church.
