Acts 5:38 Now, therefore, I say unto you—stand aloof from these men, and let them alone; because if, of men, be this project or this work, it will be overthrown,— 39 But, if it is, of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them: lest once, even fighters against God, ye be found. It is historical fact that by the time this composite work, "Acts," what became Christianity under Paul of Tarsus and others who really did become submerged into history had already changed from whatever Jesus of Nazareth taught. Through the magic of historical popular hindsight the complex necessity of change from a predominantly Jewish biblical view, not simple in itself, to an also very complex of gentile religion and even more complex sub-cults which grew up in the Hellenistic environment Christians today and for centuries have collapsed all this into something that can be made into a Sunday school story for children. So natural to the uneducated but preposterous to any serious historian. Let us say simply for the simple and educated that what Jesus of Nazareth started was overthrown, and something that would never recognize him his time or his people was used to bury him so deeply that only the imagination of others survives. God was not responsible for what evil was done to Jesus and those who are responsible by the Christian religion.
