Acts 9:19-22, NKJV So when he had received food, he was strengthened. Then Saul spent some days with the disciples at Damascus. Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. Then all who heard were amazed, and said, Is this not he who destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and has come here for that purpose, so that he might bring them bound to the chief priests? But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ. Fridays with the Apostle Paul Herein lies the true response of those who have come to faith in Christ. They speak. Many Christians seem to think that a life-changing pursuit of Christ can somehow be expressed in silence, as though their faith choice is so personal that it isnt relevant to anyone elses life. But how could this be true? To experience the miracle of grace, the extraordinary impact of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life, then somehow remain silent about such transformation borders on an impossibility. Imagine telling no one of the sudden disappearance of a cancerous tumor or remaining silent when deep scars once-visible are now removed. Who could keep that secret? The evidence of life change is just that---life change. Something is remarkably different. Saul couldnt hide his new direction. He had been an enemy of Christ and now has become His servant. Every step he took proclaimed his new path. Surely our new roads should be just as evident, both in our actions and in our words. ---Dr. Mike Clarensau serves as Senior Director of the Healthy Church Network
