Adalynn was known as the smiling hound. She would literally smile when our Angels Among Us volunteers came to her cage at animal control. She even greeted the intake veterinarian with a big ole smile. Well, Adalynn isnt smiling today. She just had to be rushed from the vets office to a 24-hour emergency vet hospital. She has a fever, shes shivering, she has bronchitis leading to pneumonia which is causing her to cough up blood & foam. She is in very bad shape. To top it off, Adalynn was covered from head to toe in fleas and ticks, shes heartworm positive and we can tell she recently had babies. Poor girl. In this video, you can see she is struggling to breathe and shes so malnourished, you can even see her spine. (PLEASE NOTE- this video was taken in the exam room while she was waiting to see the vet. Please rest assured that this sweet girl has a cozy blanke and other comfort items with her in her kennel.) The world has taken its toll on Adalynn. Humans have failed her and now we have to do everything we can to try to save her life. We want her to have a chance to know that not all humans are bad and that a better life awaits her if she can stay strong. Adalynn is fighting for her life and we are determined to fight with her by providing her with the best veterinary care possible. Sadly, the this fight come with a price tag. 24-hour emergency monitoring and vet care is so very expensive and we are pleading for your help.
