Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, has been impeached today, after the state House of Assembly concluded its deliberations on the report of the panel set to probe allegations of financial misconducts leveled against him. The House is sitting today to consider the report of the seven-member investigative panel, appointed to probe allegations of financial impropriety against the governor and his deputy. The committee submitted its report to the House yesterday, amidst high security presence at the premise of the state’s assembly. It will be recalled that the state Deputy Governor, Bala Ngilari, resigned from office to avoid being impeached. Mr. Ngilari’s resignation letter was read at plenary by the speaker of the Assembly, Umaru Fintiri, after which the lawmakers approved it. Nyako, Ngilari had failed to appear before the panel constituted to investigate the allegations against them following an earlier noticed served the executives by the assembly members. Reports had it that the display of arrogance by the governor and his deputy by ignoring the panel did not only led to the drastic decisions reached but some chieftains of the governors party, All Progressives Congress in the state are in support of his ouster.
