Adamawa: The Way Forward:- To progress, all stakeholders must see reason to form a united front with a view to supporting and mobilising all the citizens of this state both at home and at the diaspora to unite under a sole aim of moving this state forward. We must see the emergence of His Excellency, Barr. Bala Ngilari as a will of God whose will and wishes are supreme over all beings. Some may feel uncomfortable with this development but if we advert our minds to the believe that Allah gives and takes and no mortal decides for Him, then Bala Ngilari must be embraced as a will of God. I hereby pledge my unflinching loyalty and support. (What about you)? Our major problem in this state is not that of ethnicity but religion. We are always afraid and often shy away from the reality and pretend about this menace and dangerous trend which Adamawa politics is drifting into and this development has regrettably eaten deep into the fabrics of our politicking and social engagements. Again, it can be argued that no Christian or Muslim can do it alone as far as our politics is concern and given our heregeneity as people drawn from various background, we need each other to succeed as a tree cannot make a forest. I understand religion to be an instrument of soul purification and a medium of communication to Allah SWT and not an institution of division and conflict amongst humankind. Unfortunately, religious fundamentalism in Islam and the proliferation of churches are bringing about ideologies and belief system that is capable of tearing the hitherto united people of this state apart! Therefore, religion is now seen by some as a willing tool to be use for the maintainance of personal aggrandizement and self enrichment. Little wonder that our Imams and Pastors today do grace political gatherings and romance our political leadership in a way that undermine their credibility and ability as men of God thereby bringing those beautiful and spiritual institutions to disrepute. Barr. Bala Ngilari has come to stay and we will be doing ourselves a great deal of injustice to use any sentiment or division of any kind to undermine his authority. The former Acting Governor and his Comrades should take an hint from this!
