Adams County Regional Medical Center (ACRMC) is undergoing changes. ACRMC IS NOT CLOSING! The current bond holders for ACRMC requested, received a management proposal from Rural Hospital Group, which the ACRMC Board of Trustees approved. This new management plan involves decreasing expenses, without affecting quality of patient care, and increasing services. All departments of the hospital have been evaluated as administration, managers and employees have worked together to provide ideas to trim costs. Making changes is necessary to make ACRMC a more viable hospital that can continue to serve our community in the future. Many changes have already taken place, as administration and managers have worked to re-negotiate contracts and pricing for service and products. ACRMC is not alone in their endeavor to survive the changing economy and healthcare market. Rural hospitals are closing at an alarming rate in the United States. In 2013, forty three small and rural hospitals closed in the country. The goal of the hospital trustees, administration and staff of ACRMC is to make necessary changes so that our community may continue to receive quality healthcare at their local hospital for many years.
