Adaptogens in Medical Herbalism by Donald Yance, CN, MH, RH (AHG). Okay, so herbal therapy using adaptogens has been a foundational part of most of my protocols for health support, and in recent years, I have greatly enjoyed creating blends targeted for individual clients need, thus I feel fairly confident in my adaptogen base of knowledge and blending skills, thanks to learning resources such as Adaptogens by David Winston and Steven Maimes and Clinical Botanical Medicine and deep immune herb teaching in Medical Herbalism by David Hoffman. So when I saw Yances new book on these fabulous herbs, I thought, Yeah, Ill need to get that at some point just to make sure Im not missing some tidbit of knowledge that would help my clients and students. After some Christmas money made the purchase possible, I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the heft of this hardcover edition! What I thought was going to be affirming to what I already knew about adaptogens was actually to create a whole new layer of practice knowledge. I particularly enjoyed the various systems and health conditions chapters where someone new to adaptogens might easily find those herbs targeted to their particular needs. And the monographs on each herbal adaptogen: primary, secondary, and adaptogen supports? Impressive! If you plan to hand out any herb advice, you will want to is book on your wish list. And at only $35 from Amazon, its a deal for its depth of content.
