Additional information on motor vehicle theft incident from this morning: The East Metro Auto Theft Task Force (EMATT) spotted a stolen vehicle earlier this morning at the 7-Eleven located at 13790 E. Quincy Ave. There were two suspects in the vehicle which had been stolen a few days prior from Thorton. EMATT attempted to stop the vehicle at which the point the vehicle took off from the officers and crashed through the gates of Cherry Creek State Park. EMATT officers were able to keep view of the vehicle while following from a distance. During the incident an Englewood police officer, who is a member of EMATT, rolled over his vehicle. The officer is not injured and CSP is handling the accident. The stolen vehicle did become disabled at Cherry Creek State Park at which time they stole another vehicle and fled the scene. That incident is being handled by the Arapahoe County Sheriffs Office. The two suspects are at large at this time.
