Addressing my tweet to @ChuckCJohnson last night, I wear the many - TopicsExpress

Addressing my tweet to @ChuckCJohnson last night, I wear the many mistakes Ive made, my imperfection publicly, and I do so proudly in hopes others might avoid them. Because I have, I dont anticipate being a target of Chucks, or those of the Breitbart ilk. I dnt seek to impose my faith on others, nor do I believe it is my right to judge others by the lens of my own faith - I believe that is solely for God. So yes, when others deliberately condemn the sins of another as if they are better, or support discriminatory practices against LBGT rationalized by faith, I expect them to live the ideals they preach. I disagree with Chuck on many things. His reporting yesterday was legitimate as a cautionary tale for those who take a high handed tone towards others rationalized by faith. Those whose faith I most admire dont have to judge others - they live their own lives by the principles of that faith. I was merely expressing good reporting, just as I did to Joan Walsh at Salon this morning, both of whom I have given a hard time to. When I give people a hard time, I believe I have an obligation to acknowledge them when I think theyve done good work as well. Simply put, Ive been married three times - if tomorrow I decided to lecture people implying they are moral failures for getting divorced, Chuck would rightly cry foul. If I criticized another daytime host for having a psychic on TV, even on a solely entertainment show like mine was, would not people cry foul? I take my licks when I screw up - I did when I lost my temper at a young reporter, I did so when Amanda Berry and Shawn were found alive (never been so happy for Sylvia to have been wrong) and I did so publicly.
