Addressing the need for Long-Term Care beds is a very important issue in Thunder Bay. A couple of weeks ago, we took a huge step forward: construction is now underway on the second phase of a new $83.5 million 416 bed long-term care bed building. I spoke about it in the Legislature yesterday: youtube/watch?v=X1WZFqz1JHE&feature=youtu.be Phase 1 of the project, the Sister Leila Greco Apartments--a132-unit supportive housing building--is already complete. This is all part of an approximately $100 million investment by our government in long-term care in our community. St. Joe’s Care Group has been an incredible partner--helping to make this massive undertaking a reality. This project is great for our seniors, great for local health care and great for our local construction and building trades! I’m very happy to see it moving forward.
