Admin Post this serious issue. Please take 5 min and read this serious issue and give your views. A 23 year old Physiotherapist intern was gangraped and murdered on 16th December in Munirika,a neighbourhood located in the southern part of new Delhi. My prime focus is for the juvenile criminal (unnamed) who was the one among the six perpetrators. He aged 17yrs 8 mnths on the day of the incident. In the 33-page chargesheet, the Delhi police described the juvenile as the most brutal of the six accused. But still he was sentenced only 3years imprisonment including the 8 months trial period spent in jail. Just see the leniency of the justice system, the juvenile justice board rejected a police request for a bone ossification(age determination test) for a positive documentation of his age. Can the ghastly nature of his alleged crime be neglected just on age basis ? Here the question raises, will the weak strategies of punishments for juvenile crimes not give an impetus to the growing criminal offences in India? The condition is worse, the youngsters are just unafraid of committing crimes because of the lenient juvenile justice system. The law and justice has to be improved, amendments has to be made to bring a Positive change in The ever growing juvenile crimes.
