Adonis Stevenson vs Tony Bellew WBC Light-Heavyweight Title Live on SkySports Sunday 1st December at 2:00am TIP & ODDS Stevenson To Win In Rnds 1-6 @ 2.63 PREVIEW WBC World Light-Heavyweight Champion Adonis Stevenson defends his title against WBC No1 contender & WBC Silver Light-Heavyweight Champion Tony Bellew in Stevensons backyard, Quebec, Canada this Saturday night/Sunday morning live on SkySports. Stevenson won the title at his first time at L-HW against then Champion Chad Dawson, who he knocked out in the first rnd after only 80 seconds. Hes got bags of power in both hands not just his left. Bellew is the No1 contender for Stevensons WBC strap but not really well known outside of the UK. Hes come through some good opponents but his most notably opponent was Nathan Cleverly which he lost by a narrow points decision for Cleverlys then WBO World Title, but in his last couple of fights, though the opponents were good he hasnt looked very comfortable, confident or world class. When Stevenson stepped up to L-HW I for one wrote him off straight away against Dawson who beat Hopkins for the title. I didnt think he would be able to bring his power or his speed up the weight with him, boy was I wrong this guy can still bang! Hes not just a one punch KO artist though he also has speed and a high boxing IQ and is capable of boxing behind the jab and picking his power shots as he demonstrated against Tavoris Cloud when he stopped him within 7 rnds only 2 months ago. Tony Bellew started at L-HW then moved up to Crusierweight for a few fights than came back to L-HW. His record doesnt really tell the full story but he has power in his back hand. He likes to be aggressive and starts on the front foot using his height and reach to good effect, but against a fighter that can control a fights pace like Stevenson, as he demonstrated against Cloud, Bellew tends to run out of ideas. This I feel is a fight to far for Bellew, hes been knocked down by opponents with a lot less power that Stevenson and with Bellews aggressive starts to fights hes most likely going to get tagged by Stevensons big left hand early on and most probably not going to see the second half of the fight. This really is Stevensons fight to lose and I just hope that he hasnt underestimated Bellew and already looking for the money fight against Kovalev. PREDICTION In the beginning I see Bellew moving forward trying to take the centre of the ring and maybe trying to steamroll Stevenson with his aggression but this will leave him open to Stevensons powerful left hand and Bellew really doesnt want to do that. Stevensons best punch is his hurtful body punches from both hands and if he lets them go Bellew wont last very long, Im going to prediction an early to mid fight stoppage in this one. Odds are 2.63 with Skybet for Stevenson to win in rnds 1-6 which to me looks very good.
