Adorno and Horkheimers concept of the culture industry doesnt need to be expounded over a thousand pages of abstruse continental philosophy. The term and the apparatus indict themselves. We can have a million cool bands, a million brilliant movies, a million oeuvres of fine art, a million spiritual practices, a million profound novels, a million cultural innovations, but if we dont organize bodies politically, along straightforward lines of emancipatory thought, with discipline and endless dedication, all we have is the same nightmare embracing the human race. By all means, give birth to your visions and delight in those of others, but dont for a second believe theyre substitutes for making actual change. Split your time and squad up with us in the streets if you actually want that better world.
