Advanced Training Essentials Growth Hormone GH – part - TopicsExpress

Advanced Training Essentials Growth Hormone GH – part 1 Growth Hormone (GH) is an anabolic substance responsible for the cellular regeneration and growth of many of our bodily tissues and organs. Naturally released from the somatotroph cells within the lateral wings of the anterior pituitary gland (a pea-sized gland which secretes several important peptide hormones, including testosterone’s precursor, luteinizing hormone), GH, a protein-based, 191-amino acid polypeptide controls a myriad of biological processes: from fat loss to bone growth to muscle building. Its governing role in the building and functioning of that which makes us capable and efficient cannot be overstated. It is no surprise, then, that this most coveted of hormones is also sought after, in synthetic form, by those who want to improve their rate of physical development and performance abilities (sadly, GH does not facilitate the growth of brain cells, or neurogenesis). While GH is essential for organ and tissue growth and without enough of it we would soon encounter a range of medical problems – which to fix may require laboratory manufactured (synthetic) GH administration – excessive amounts can present a host of negative side effects. For those whose bodies cannot produce enough GH, manmade versions are used to offset any associated medical conditions. For those who do not require such therapy, but have nevertheless discovered GH’s growth enhancing properties, there is also a ready market. Indeed, with its use prominent among modern-day elite athletes, synthetic GH has found another accepting home. With its use widespread in both genuine medical populations (including those of an advanced age who wish to reclaim their youthfulness) and among the athletics community, GH “treatment” has proven to be a prudent means to boosting human performance, whether for genuine purposes or among those whose quest for gold has them coveting the anabolic edge.
