The writing normally says “Merry Christmas” or something like that. Perhaps the simple words are not too far removed from the words on Belshazzar’s wall.” Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin” which Daniel helped interpret as Numbered, Weighed, and Divided. Is there a numbering of our days in the word Merry? Yes I declare to you celebrate, for the time is short! Is there a weighing of our lives by the word Christ? Yes I declare to you, our lives are measured by the life of Jesus! Is there a dividing of our world by the word Mass? Yes I declare to you history is divided by this celebration BC AD, and our lives are divided into a BC AD if we receive Jesus.
