Adventures in ACA! The twins needed healthcare. Chris breezed through and is covered with a great plan at a very affordable $44 a month (it is great to be a college student!) But his twin Corey couldnt complete his registration not because of ACA but because of Experian!!! ACA verifies your identity with questions provided by Experian, but every set of questions Corey answered accurately was rejected. After three sets of questions, he got locked out of ACA. He was told to call Experian, which answered the phone with a robo answer that they were experiencing a high call volume, call back later. He then tried to get his Experian report online but it too locked him out refusing to believe he is who he is. The site gave him a second number to call. That was another robo answerer with a menu. Corey then jumped back to the first number, and finally got a real person, but she couldnt help him because Experians computers were down. He was told to call back in an hour. It took until after 11pm to get through to Experian which finally claimed to fix everything. But then the ACA website announced it was shutting down. The Government gave way too much credence to a credit bureau when they are hardly kept to any standard of accuracy in the information they accept and report. If you refuse to recognize bad information they randomly choose to verify your ID, you are screwed! The choice is to agree that the bad information is correct so the current application will continue to the next screen, or refuse to agree to bad information and get locked out!!
