Minimum Requirements Professional, technical skills and previous experience required Required Experience: · Bachelors degree · Experience working in a busy office environment, within the marketing or communications industry. · Experience of working across several projects simultaneously, juggling the day to day work in order to meet client deadlines. · Experience in a marketing agency or an understanding of the processes involved in developing ATL and BTL marketing communications. · Experience of managing projects from start to finish. · 5 + years of relevant experience Desired Experience: · Experience of presenting and influencing clients · Mentoring and coaching others in the team. Job Specification Job Purpose - Summary An Account Manager is responsible for creating a stimulating environment within which the best work can evolve. Responsible for the effective management of all client projects and the smooth week-by week running of the account you will proactively and positively manage the relationship between the Client and Agency team. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Knowledge Areas: · Understands all aspects of the brand, from reading reports, visiting stores and talking to sales force to using and experiencing the product or service. · Understands the motivations and behaviour patterns of consumers in the marketplace by attending focus groups or quantitative debriefs, store visits etc. · Understands challenges facing Clients business in the short-term and knows all aspects of competitive activity. · Be a sound judge of creative work, able to coherently argue the case for or against creative work based on the brief and factual accuracy, both internally and with the Client. · Has a thorough working knowledge of all Agency systems and production processes. · Ensures that work progresses through the system to meet deadlines and knows the job status on a day-to-day basis. Task Areas: · Supports planners in developing ideas and stimulus for research and actively contributes to discussions on strategy and advertising development. · Responsible for keeping clients involved in the development process to build their confidence and enable them to buy braver ideas. · Ensures all members of the team are regularly apprised of the status of all ongoing projects to ensure all disciplines work together to get the work out on time and on budget. · Act as the communication channel between the Agency and Clients, media agency and other communication partners to ensure a smooth integration of all elements within the mix. · The creative and production teams main day to day contact, providing direction on creative briefs. · Responsible for overseeing the development and production of all his/her projects. · Develops an expert knowledge of the agency production process and takes full responsibility with creative services for its adherence. Talent Management and Internal Relationships: Takes responsibility for effective team communication, both written and verbal, ensuring all team members and clients receive contact reports, briefs, market information, timing schedules, minutes etc. Begins to develop people management skills by coaching and developing their reports. Demonstrates an ability to effectively delegate both up and down. Forms strong and enduring relationships with all team members. To motivate other members of the project team during difficult times, absorbing their anxieties and keep the project moving forward. Client Management: · Deep understanding of challenges facing the Clients business in the short to mid-term · Has a thorough understanding of all dynamics operating in the market and the consumers relationship with the brand · In partnership with the Planning, applies innovative thinking to the development of insightful communication strategies and a longer term brand vision · Should have a good cross-discipline understanding, ie. an up-to-date grasp of planning and media tools, print and production techniques, and below-the-line communication channels including PR, Sales Promotion, Direct Marketing, Sponsorship and Interactive. · Liaising between client, outside suppliers and other internal and external contacts. · Create and develop a positive and professional relationship with your client and other relevant contacts. · Represents/merchandises the clients business within the agency. · Regularly seeks our ways to add value to the client/agency relationship. Commercial Management: Manages the accounts billing system and contribution to finance process Responsible for budget control of their projects regarding client Pos. Ensures that all WIP (work in progress) can be reconciled and billed as soon as possible. Ensures that all invoices are issued quickly and correctly and that reconciliation meetings are held with Client as appropriate.
