Celebrated annually in the first week of November. Sponsored by the American Artists Professional League beginning in 1930. Each year, hundreds of applicants from all 50 states in all media submit their work for review by a selection committee consisting of professional artists in the fields of oil, watermedia, pastel and graphics and sculpture. Artists are encouraged to exhibit their art in public places and schools and colleges are asked to exhibit the art of students. Original located in Milton Dukes Teen Town Theatre scrapbook, 1958.
