As an art form we tend to overlook adverts, but have you ever noticed what they are really selling you? Its not just the product they sell, they sell you an idea or ideal. Often using key words to ‘hook’ you, words like peace, freedom, family, friendship, love, health, and in the attached Hero. What these ads do is to illustrate or use a hook or deeper message to sell their product. These messages maybe a backdrop to the clip, but have you ever really considered that it is not the product you crave, but rather the ideal they use? For example you dont really want the car, you want the family life and freedom that comes with it.
